FIRST NATIONS MAKERS
Coinciding with Melbourne Fashion Week and the ganbu marra Runway, we’ve teamed up with Agency Projects to bring the incredible work of Yarrenyty Arltere Artists from the heart of Northern Territory to Fitzroy.
Between 21 October and 2 November, step inside to discover specially designed screen-printed textiles and homewares at The Box alongside a striking fabric installation in the lobby.
And, on Wednesday 22nd October, join us for a panel conversation hosted by media commentator and cultural ambassador, Leila Gurruwiwi. Joined by visual and textile artist Sonya Coleman, designer and business owner Tahnee Edwards and First Nations fashion advocate and educator Mayatili Marika, the conversation will explore First Nations Fashion as a catalyst for change.
The StandardX is proud to support remote First Nations artists and communities with reaching new audiences in Naarm.
The First Nations Fashion panel will take place at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, 22 October. Tickets are complimentary but you must reserve your spot here.
